While Daddy has traveled a great deal this summer from Asia to Australia to Mexico, it has been a action packed / fun filled summer. Mommy went on travel for a week and Daddy and Fletcher got to spend some quality time together which Mommy was very happy about.
Fletcher loves his new school. In fact, on the weekends he asks to go there. I don't know what that says about us, but I think its a good thing. Its been full of camp activities and he's been worn out when he comes home. Next week his good friend from his previous school will join him.
He is learning to spell. He's learning measurement of time and items, but doesn't quite get "it" yet, but I enjoy hearing him explain how long its going take to do something with great conviction.
Fletcher loves animals. He "cares" for his stuffed animals. He calls them his "pets." I love seeing this gentle side since he's so rough most of the time. I've also learned that a lot of times his emotions/concerns/fears come out through conversations he has with this animals -- good or bad. So, I listen!
Fletcher is now going to his own bathroom. We still have a bit of an issue if he has to go in the middle of the night. He goes to his own bathroom without a problem, but comes to get Mommy to put him back to bed. He uses his own bathroom before coming to our bedroom in the morning now without fail and we haven't had a wet bed in about 2 months. He can get himself dressed now too. These things seem like small feats, but its made a huge difference in Mommy's life -- a full night's sleep and more leisure in the morning -- all is good!
We've learned the importance of keeping our "word" whether it be for something good (a gift/something fun to do) or punishment (for bad behavior or not listening). Fletcher has learned that Mommy ALWAYS delivers on both accounts. So, he is learning, if Fletcher listens, Mommy's happy and when Mommy's happy, everyone is happy.
Bike riding is going well. We need to adjust the training wheels upward. He did awesome with his swimming lessons and will continue his lesson throughout the Fall.
