Middleburg - Fox Hunt...

After an outing with some good friends the night before and an early morning wake-up call....we were in a hurry to pull ourselves together and get down to Middleburg, VA to see the Morning Parade (a kick off of Christmas celebrations) led by The Middleburg Hunt -- it started at 11:00 sharp! So we got dressed, loaded Fletcher into the Hummer, and drove straight South to Middleburg... By the time we arrived, cars were simply pulling off the main street and parking on the embankment - so we followed suit. Then we unloaded and started walking to the town center where all the people were gathered. There was a lot of excitement in the air (not to mention is was 34 degrees). As you can see, the little guy (all 45 pounds) was a fixture on daddy’s shoulders the entire event.
The riders and horses were true to form – very majestic and stately in their appearance.
The hounds – around 30 – were running in a pack and excited to see the crowds. The hounds seemed eager to find a fox or rabbit to chase – but, alas, non were found on main street in Middleburg.
The entire event only lasted about 5 minutes – but well worth the effort to see….
