Black Friday -- the day after Thanksgiving...

Daddy and Fletcher decide they want to have some "wings" for lunch - so what better place than Hooters.... As you can see, Fletcher has plenty of Hooter girls flocking around him... a chip off the old block.

Now, I was debating whether to publish these next photos -- since my boy did not seem to "appreciate" the attention he was getting. He was a bit off from a cold he was fighting - so we gave him the benefit of the doubt.

I can honestly say, the reason why Fletcher was upset was not because of the pretty Hooter girls, but because of the hair restoration commercial on the TV behind him -- it even made me wince and feel a bit queasy.

Now, cousin Eli did not seem to have any problems keeping his cool. Almost like he was ignoring the Hooter girls... keep them guessing, wanting more - what a great guy move!

Obviously, Fletcher was still traumatized from the hair commercial he saw earlier.

We did have some fun throwing rocks into a creak... little rocks and big rocks.

We had our first weekend away to the The Homestead with the little guy en tow. It was a great trip. We had spa treatments, we did off roading in the Hummer, we had a babysitter for our evening out, BUT we couldn't stay awake past dessert. We are either getting old or are very tired???? Oooohhhh... the great anticipation...
A early morning walk leads us to great views of the hidden waterfalls. Chris got to tote our 45lber most of the way.

Daddy and Fletcher...

The Cascades in Hot Springs, VA

Other uses for Daddy's knee -- a step stool.

Mommy these are great rocks.

wwwwoooooooooo

...

Fletcher charging those batteries again. He seems to sleep best in Mommy and Daddy's bed during the day.
Fletcher loved having his friends over for a playdate, but realize it entailed sharing.

Flub...made in Fletcher's kitchen science class...

Now the square root of fish equals, what?

Gimmie that camera!

The milk was for the baby sheeps, but the Fletcher
decided to feed the greedy goats instead.

Boy, things have changed. We went through, what we believe will be the first of many defiance stages with Fletcher – where everything was “no” and compliancy was not something he was willingly offering. Little things, like our requests for him to put his toys away, to hold a hand when crossing the street, to stay still when changing his diaper and knowing when we say “no” we mean just that “no.” Ooooooh….our ears and patience have been tested, but we are staying consistent and believe it is paying off – at least we hope. Now, we know why God makes babies cute…:-)
Fletcher loves people, he still loves to cuddle, he loves being outside and new sights, he loves to be read to, he love his matchbox cars, and figuring out how things work. He’s enjoyed two structured art classes, My Gyms classes for nearly a year, his local playgroups. Next month a lot will change for Fletcher and Mommy as he starts classes full-time three days a week.
And, as we get poised to celebrate Fletcher’s 2nd birthday and our 2nd year of being parents, we realize that we are learning a very complex, masterful puzzle (our son) where there are ups and downs (mostly ups), but there’s a HUGE pay-offs of sloppy kisses, toothy smiles, and tight hugs. Does life get any better than that?

Fletcher is starting to put words together now.
Its dark in here.
It’s cold
Too big
Sit down
Morning Mommy
You ok?
Not nice
Hi, Man.
Bye-bye Man
Thank you.
These are some of his favorite phrases.

He weighs 45lbs, wears size 11.5 shoes and wears size 5T.
